Position Overview:
As a Mechanical and Electrical Systems Engineer, you will oversee, analyze, and evaluate critical information pertaining to mechanical and electrical systems essential for timely, safe, and budget-compliant project execution, adhering to the quality standards outlined in the contract documents.

Key Responsibilities:

In relation to mechanical and electrical systems:
1. Lead the project team, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure seamless coordination and effective installation of systems.
2. Develop and manage a comprehensive list of contract items for all components, materials, and systems, ensuring compliance with project timelines and approval processes.
3. Actively participate in schedule review meetings, providing updated information to maintain an accurate project timeline.
4. Oversee the processing of Requests for Information (RFIs).
5. Manage the project budget, including the assessment and negotiation of change orders, while maintaining an understanding of subcontractor financial statuses.
6. Mentor and supervise Assistant MEP Engineers.
7. Collaborate with the VDC Engineer to ensure MEP coordination aligns with design specifications, operational requirements, and quality benchmarks.
8. Draft scope of work documents delineating responsibilities for various trades and temporary operations.
9. Work alongside the MEP Superintendent to address conflicts between mechanical and electrical systems and the site logistics plan, ensuring adherence to the project schedule.
10. Co-manage the turnover process, including start-up, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
11. Conduct regular site inspections with MEP staff to verify compliance with contract documents, coordination drawings, and approved submissions.
12. Identify and communicate complex installation requirements to field staff in a timely manner to facilitate effective planning and execution.
13. Secure all necessary municipal and agency documentation for temporary certificates of information and system operation.
14. Develop and implement a quality control plan in collaboration with the MEP Superintendent.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in mechanical and electrical systems.
2. Proficient understanding of mechanical and electrical systems across various project types and their interdependencies.
3. Strong business acumen to effectively plan, manage, and execute essential duties, complemented by excellent communication skills and organizational capabilities.
4. Demonstrated leadership qualities to foster a high-performing team environment.

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role may also involve lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will regularly work on-site at construction locations, where exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, and varying weather conditions may occur. Noise levels in these environments can range from moderate to very loud.
