We operate over 1,200+ locations domestically and 50+ internationally, including specialty concept stores for the NBA, NHL, Paris Saint-Germain, and numerous MLB teams. Key ResponsibilitiesThe District Sales Manager (DSM) is a key field leader who supports and directs stores within a given geographic area to drive strategic product sell-through, deliver key business results, hire, and develop store associates. DSMs ensure that store operational principles are followed and that each store provides exceptional customer service by offering their expertise on Lids' products and services.
Key AccountabilitiesPeople & Training Development
- Develop and implement a district-wide hiring strategy, including planning, recruitment, and training to ensure a strong and skilled store team.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to Store Managers (SMs) to enhance their leadership skills and improve store performance.
- Engage and motivate store teams to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
- Hold SMs accountable for managing and developing their store teams.
Customer Experience
- Ensure that stores deliver exceptional customer service, achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), and sales targets by conducting regular store visits and providing coaching and feedback.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive customer engagement and loyalty, including promotions and special offers.
- Manage and direct in-store team members to ensure optimal customer service and store operations.
Operations
- Manage district operations, including scheduling, payroll, and inventory management to ensure efficient and effective store operations.
- Monitor and analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and improve store performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
Product & Inventory Management
- Oversee district product strategy, including receiving, processing, merchandising, and exiting to ensure optimal product sell-through and inventory management.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and improve store performance.
- Four-year degree in business or a related field and one year of relevant experience, or two-year degree in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience, or three years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to produce sales results and minimize loss.
- Proven supervisory skills, with capacity to deliver training material and assess retention.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally in a clear, audible, and professional manner.
- Ability to operate a computer and maneuver relative software programs.
- Ability to work varying days and hours, based on business needs, and maintain an excellent attendance record.
- Possess a valid driver's license, certificate of auto insurance coverage, and the ability to drive an automobile.
- Extensive travel (up to 90%) in a given geographic area. Driving required for up to 100% of the daily work schedule.
- Standing required for up to 90% of the work time.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight for training and/or business meetings.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop; kneel; or crouch.
