Job Title: Chief Academic Officer

At The Family Place Incorporated, we are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as our Chief Academic Officer. This is a critical role that will play a key part in shaping the academic direction of our organization.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing adult education programs, with a strong focus on improving academic excellence. They will be responsible for planning and implementing academic initiatives, supervising curriculum and instruction, and overseeing academic staff.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about improving educational opportunities for adult learners and has a strong commitment to our organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of dedicated faculty and staff members
  • Supervise curriculum and instruction, and oversee academic staff
  • Plan and implement academic initiatives to improve academic excellence
  • Recruit, select, lead, motivate, and coach a team of teachers and staff
  • Implement school budgets and innovative strategies for maximizing school resources

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in TESOL, Adult Education, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising teachers or managing programs related to Adult Education or ESL
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with a non-profit Board of Directors and managing programs in an educational nonprofit or charter environment
  • Experience with NRS-approved ESL testing (CASAS E-testing and BEST series)
  • Experience working with low-income adults and children in urban settings
