Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Member Services Representative to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Providence. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, promoting our programs and services, and contributing to a positive and inclusive community environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and program participants, ensuring a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.
  • Respond to member and guest needs, resolving issues and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Promote and sell memberships and programs, utilizing effective communication and sales skills.
  • Participate in administrative support functions, including data entry, photocopying, and filing.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, members, and staff, fostering a sense of community and connection.
  • Retain membership confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Reconcile end-of-shift money and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide administrative support, including typing, data entry, and other tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 60 days of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
