Job Overview

Position Objective: The Community Technology Services Analyst is dedicated to overseeing technology systems and services within our multifamily housing environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability. This role encompasses various community technologies, including smart home systems, managed wireless networks, access control solutions, surveillance systems, package management technologies, digital signage, and ambient music systems. The analyst will collaborate with community teams to manage all technical requirements during transitions and renovations, working closely with IT colleagues to guarantee seamless delivery and support of community technology services.

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role and may be adjusted as necessary:

  • Oversee the installation, upgrades, and maintenance of technology systems and services within multifamily communities, ensuring comprehensive documentation and operational functionality.
  • Continuously monitor technology systems and services, collaborating with vendors to rectify issues and enhance performance, while maintaining accountability for system uptime.
  • Manage inventory details, including warranty information and key support contacts.
  • Engage with team members regularly to provide technical insights and expertise, fostering the development of existing IT knowledge and skills.
  • Establish, implement, and uphold standards and procedures for the design and configuration of technology systems and services within multifamily communities.
  • Generate and maintain documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance schedules, network diagrams, and configuration standards.
  • Conduct and supervise scheduled maintenance and system upgrades that cannot be executed during standard business hours.
  • Evaluate the current technological landscape and investigate advancements to propose future implementations that align with business objectives.
  • Take ownership of support tickets, efficiently resolving issues and providing clear, repeatable solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work independently to identify and address challenges in support processes, presenting solutions while adhering to change management protocols.
  • Travel to various community locations as needed.

Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be capable of performing the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an IT setting or educational equivalency.
  • Strong familiarity with technology systems and services utilized in multifamily environments, including but not limited to surveillance systems, audio-visual technologies, and access control systems.
  • Proficient understanding of networking equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and both LAN and WAN technologies, along with network diagnostics and monitoring techniques.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications systems, including their support, design, and deployment.
  • Experience with wireless deployment strategies, including centralized and standalone designs, as well as authentication and authorization technologies.
  • Familiarity with system, network, and performance management tools for event and fault isolation, as well as resource optimization.
  • Exhibit strong communication and decision-making abilities while effectively prioritizing and managing work activities.
  • A highly motivated team player with a positive attitude, capable of quick learning and demonstrating excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various issues effectively over the phone in a dynamic, fast-paced IT environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records of all changes.
