Job Summary:

The Traffic Operations Specialist will oversee the establishment, upkeep, and removal of traffic management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety is our priority. As a Traffic Operations Specialist, you will be tasked with implementing various road closures and ensuring the safety of all road users.

In this role, you will acquire skills in effectively closing roads using cones and barricades, as well as managing two-way traffic flow.

Two-way traffic management involves utilizing stop and slow signs to communicate with drivers about safe passage through work zones.


What We Offer:

Starting Compensation:
$16.00-$18.00 per hour

Referral Bonus:
$500 (for each friend you refer, with no limit on referrals)

The final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including experience, education, and industry background.

Traffic Management, Inc. operates across multiple states, and this salary range may not apply to positions in all locations.

Equipment Operated:

  • Vehicles (including trucks and cars) of various sizes
  • Flatbed trucks
  • Trailer-mounted warning signs
  • Cones, delineators, drums, barricades, signs, and other traffic control devices

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capability to perform full deep squats
  • Full range of motion in arms and legs
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs from floor to chest level over a distance of 25 ft

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs from floor to shoulder level over a distance of 25 ft

  • Strong grip required for handling, controlling, or lifting objects
  • Ability to raise arms overhead to lift and place objects weighing up to 50 lbs over a distance of 25 ft

  • Ability to step at least 33 inches onto the tailgate of a truck
  • Willingness to work outdoors and be exposed to various environmental conditions
  • Experience in a construction environment
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements
  • Capability to bend at the elbows, knees, and hips
  • Exposure to working near moving machinery, heavy equipment, and vehicular traffic
  • Ability to maintain alertness and safety while performing job functions
  • Competence in driving a vehicle attentively and safely

Education and Experience:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of three years (must meet company insurance requirements)

  • No Type A violations within the past three years
  • No more than one moving violation within the past three years

Essential Duties:

  • Respond promptly to Dispatch Center calls regarding availability – within 90 minutes during business hours and by the next day if after hours.

  • Maintain communication and coordination with the TMI Dispatcher both on and off the job.
  • Ensure all equipment is safe and operational.
  • Conduct pre-job inspections and inventory using the Vehicle and Equipment Checklist (VEC).
  • Inspect vehicles for safe operation prior to use (checking oil, tire pressure, etc.) and report any issues to your supervisor or dispatcher.

  • Inventory and inspect necessary equipment for each job.
  • Load all required equipment into the vehicle.
  • Navigate safely to and from the office to job sites, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Manage traffic flow to ensure a safe work environment for clients, employees, and the public.
  • Collaborate with customers and/or TMI dispatchers to provide safe, efficient, and seamless service.
  • Complete all required documentation, receipts, and timesheets by established deadlines.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
  • Always ensure a safe work zone by remaining attentive and only using the vehicle during breaks.
