Job Summary

Morningside University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Associate Registrar to join our team. As a key member of the Registrar's Office, this individual will be responsible for managing and supervising the office's daily operations, ensuring the smooth execution of student records and registration functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Records and Registration: Assist the Registrar in all aspects of records and registration functions, including managing student data, processing add/drop forms, and registering students as needed.
  • Post-Secondary/Senior Scholar Registrations: Work with Post-Secondary/Senior Scholar registrations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of student records.
  • Course Information Management: Enter course information into the computer system for each term and input grades when necessary.
  • Course Book Preparation: Request information for the course book each term and publish the course book for each term.
  • Classroom Assignments and Final Exam Schedule: Work with the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs in assigning classrooms each term and preparing the final exam schedule for each semester.
  • End of Semester Letters: Send end of semester letters (Dean's List, Probation, Continued Probation, Removal from Probation, Suspension, etc.) to students.
  • Graduation Procedures: Assist with graduation procedures, including the commencement program, seating chart, names on chairs, line-up, and background responsibilities to ensure the smooth execution of the graduation ceremony.
  • FERPA Compliance: Serve as the contact person for FERPA updates, maintain the FERPA manual, coordinate training sessions, and distribute manuals as necessary.
  • Registrar's Office Operations: Coordinate the daily operations of the Registrar's Office, including supervising work-study students and maintaining the web page for the Registrar's Office.
  • Transcript Requests: Run reports and assist in processing transcript requests when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Required
  • Experience in Higher Education: Preferred
  • Strong Customer Service Skills: Essential for interacting with students, faculty, and staff
  • Management Skills: Necessary to supervise work-study students, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Critical for maintaining accurate student records and processing registration functions
  • Strong Computer Knowledge and Experience: Required for managing student data and processing registration functions
  • Effective Communication Skills: Essential for communicating with students, faculty, and staff
