Job Overview

1st Tribal Lending stands as the premier home mortgage provider for Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians. We are in search of a Loan Officer Support Specialist to enhance our operational efficiency. Our high-performing Sioux Falls team, consisting of three loan originators, is expanding its support staff to assist in increasing productivity. You will collaborate closely with a designated loan officer, undertaking various tasks assigned to you. This dynamic and engaging role will immerse you in all aspects of loan origination, processing, and closing. Your primary objective will be to elevate the productivity of your loan officer by facilitating the sourcing and finalization of more loans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare loan files for processing and collect necessary documentation from diverse sources.
  • Engage with borrowers regarding their loan applications.
  • Coordinate with loan processors, underwriters, construction administrators, and closers.
  • Communicate with external service providers such as title companies, surveyors, and contractors.
  • Issue disclosures, requests for further information, and manage loan denials in compliance with RESPA and Fair Credit regulations.
  • Address customer complaints and take suitable actions to resolve issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in finance, banking, or related sectors.
  • Understanding of financial and lending practices.
  • Ability to establish rapport with clients.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage a substantial pipeline of active loans and leads.
  • Capability to multitask and address multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the discernment to seek guidance when necessary.
