Position Overview: As a Senior Internal Auditor at Bank of Hope, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and enhancing our operational and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough operational, compliance, credit, or financial audits under the guidance of the Audit Manager or Audit Director, which may encompass various audit assignments and projects.
  • Create detailed risk and control matrices along with audit programs tailored for specific audits.
  • Support the development of comprehensive audit programs and risk assessments for assigned projects.
  • Execute and document audit activities utilizing the audit workpaper management system (TeamMate+).
  • Formulate and present findings along with detailed audit reports.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and presentation of audit conclusions and reports.
  • Engage with and mentor junior auditors during assigned audits.
  • Review the work of the audit team to ensure adherence to established requirements, IIA standards, and internal audit methodologies.
  • Monitor the resolution of issues identified during audits, including internal and external regulatory examinations.
  • Evaluate personal development needs in conjunction with departmental leadership.
  • Assist the Audit Manager in the creation of essential audit documentation.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of key functions and processes to gain insight into activities, controls, and management oversight.
  • Perform assessments of control design and effectiveness in line with the Risk Control Matrix.
  • Document testing approaches and outcomes clearly for comprehensive understanding by stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Audit Manager and auditees regarding potential control deficiencies and policy breaches during fieldwork.
  • Stay updated on federal and state banking regulations relevant to various operational functions and services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years in banking or audit roles.
  • Language Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in financial services is required.
  • Preferred Certifications: CPA, CIA, CISA, CRCM, CAMS, CFSA, or CFE.

Compensation: The salary range for this full-time position is between $100,000 and $120,000, plus bonuses and benefits. Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
