Schneider Electric is seeking a
Machine Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating abrasive waterjet machinery to manufacture high-precision components for custom electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reliable individual with dependable transportation.
  • Consistent attendance is crucial.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye, hand, and foot protection.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Adhere to Waterjet's Primary Operating Procedures.
  • Load materials into the waterjet machine according to blueprints using equipment such as forklifts or vacuum lifts.
  • Process various components in line with the production schedule, including programming for part cutting.
  • Configure the waterjet machine to ensure parts are cut within specified tolerances.
  • Complete production tasks efficiently and on schedule.
  • Label components accurately with necessary information (Part number, Job number, Job name, and purchase order).
  • Deburr, clean, and dry manufactured parts.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on the waterjet machines as per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Update the machine maintenance log with relevant data throughout each shift.
  • Complete daily machine checklists.
  • Follow standard safety practices and maintain a safe working approach.
  • Organize materials effectively to facilitate project transitions.
  • Perform general housekeeping of the work area.
  • Possess the ability to obtain a forklift operator license (training provided).
  • Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Apply basic mathematical skills, including fractions and decimals, to job tasks.
  • Exhibit strong communication abilities.
  • Maintain awareness of cutting conditions and surroundings.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Entry Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with basic inspection tools (micrometers, dial calipers, tape measures, etc.).
  • Capability to obtain a lift truck operator's license (training provided).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organizational and time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
  • Knowledge of internet and intranet technologies.
  • Prior experience operating abrasive waterjet or CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting.
  • Advanced understanding of materials and processes related to abrasive waterjet machining.
  • Familiarity with OMAX waterjet systems and software is advantageous.
