JOB SUMMARY

The Regulatory Affairs and Compliance role is crucial for overseeing the Company's adherence to state and federal regulations. This position involves guiding the organization in maintaining compliance and awareness of regulatory requirements.



SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide expert advice to business units regarding compliance with energy marketing regulations and operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure comprehensive compliance with all regulatory obligations.
  • Foster effective relationships with governmental bodies, regulators, utilities, and market participants.
  • Guide business units in compliance reporting, monitoring compliance processes, and conducting investigations.
  • Engage in regulatory proceedings and ensure the Company meets all regulatory requirements and filings.
  • Contribute to the development of regulatory strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Work closely with internal teams to raise awareness of regulatory developments.
  • Assist in formulating and articulating the Company's positions on regulatory matters, preparing necessary documentation.
  • Stay informed about state-level regulatory proceedings and initiatives impacting the Company's interests.
  • Support the Senior Director in consulting with management on regulatory and legislative strategies.
  • Identify and engage with industry associations beneficial to the Company.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Preferred - Advanced degree (MS, MA, MBA, or JD) in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Science, Law, or a Paralegal Studies Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a compliance or regulatory role within the energy sector.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proven capacity to quickly assimilate industry, legal, and regulatory information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive matters.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical and listening skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a self-directed, team-oriented environment.
  • Capacity to manage a diverse workload with strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

  • Proficient in using personal computers and related technology.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
