Job Overview

Position Summary:
Our client, a prominent General Contractor, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with extensive experience in the Life Sciences construction sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing diverse commercial construction projects, demonstrating exceptional organizational and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance the existing project team by integrating essential support roles.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules.
  • Analyze project drawings and specifications for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the project development team to refine architectural and construction specifications.
  • Prepare detailed construction estimates.
  • Monitor budgetary information to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings with senior management and project teams.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials through established suppliers.
  • Track expenditures, identifying discrepancies between projected budgets and actual costs, and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure timely project completion.
  • Make informed decisions regarding project costs, timelines, methodologies, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee contract administration, job cost tracking, billing, change orders, claims, and project closeout processes.
  • Participate in regular project management meetings to assess performance and progress.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Building Construction Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction management.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager in the Life Sciences sector.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with budgets ranging from $4.5M to $20M.
  • Experience in overseeing projects within technology, biotech, or healthcare industries.
  • Strong knowledge of construction codes and methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret and draft detailed scopes of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating software.
  • Experience collaborating with accounting teams to generate accurate operational reports.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing complex situations effectively.
  • Ability to articulate instructions clearly and compose professional correspondence.
  • Exhibit poise and confidence in verbal communication.
