Position Description:

As a Senior Project Architect, you will be instrumental in producing high-quality construction documents that meet the firm's standards.

Senior Project Architects effectively manage various projects simultaneously, assigning tasks in accordance with the project work plan to ensure precise execution. All responsibilities handled by Senior Project Architects adhere to the utmost standards of professional integrity.


From Schematic Design through to Construction Administration, you will be engaged in every stage of the projects, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery within budget constraints.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead and mentor a dedicated production team, ensuring their output meets the firm's quality and client service expectations.


Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager in developing the project work plan.

Support the preparation of the project budget under the Project Manager's guidance.

Maintain adherence to the firm's Quality Control and Project Management guidelines.

Ensure compliance with the firm's Revit Standards.

Provide insights to the Project Manager regarding staffing needs.

Lead the Project Team in creating construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.

Conduct comprehensive code research to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Collaborate with the Project Designer and team members to develop and document appropriate construction details.

Mentor junior project team members in document development.

Facilitate regular team meetings to synchronize documentation and communicate project progress concerning schedules and budgets.

Coordinate efforts and information with consulting engineers and professionals assigned to the project.

Adhere to project schedules and budgetary constraints.

Work closely with the specification writer to ensure alignment between specifications, construction, and bid documents.

Assist the Construction Administrator with submittal reviews, RFIs, change orders, and the overall construction process.

Support the Project Manager in maintaining thorough project documentation from inception to completion.

Foster positive relationships with all team members, consultants, agencies, and clients.


Contribute to business development efforts by nurturing client relationships and participating in marketing and interviewing activities for new projects as needed.

Mentor and supervise junior staff, overseeing their assignments and promoting their professional development.

Perform additional duties as required.

Skills & Requirements:
Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Experience in educational projects and familiarity with Division of the State Architect (DSA) regulations is preferred.

Proficiency in Revit Architecture is essential.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling and rendering software is advantageous.

Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.

Skilled in interpreting architectural drawings.

Knowledge of various construction delivery methods including Design/Bid/Build, Construction Management Multi-prime, Fast Track, and Design/Build.

Demonstrated understanding of building codes.

Proven ability to motivate and inspire team members.

Strong organizational capabilities.

Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Architecture is required, with preference for candidates who are licensed architects in California.
