Residential Construction Estimator

JAKE Premier, LLC is a growing construction management firm specializing in new home construction and renovations. We are seeking an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our team of dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly analyze construction documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a comprehensive understanding of each project.
  • Calculate the precise amount of materials required for new home construction and renovation projects.
  • Prepare detailed material and labor quotes based on current market costs and industry standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and management to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all estimates.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data provided by clients and management to generate comprehensive and precise estimates.
  • Negotiate agreements with subcontractors to secure the best value, quality, and delivery of products and services.
  • Manage bids from vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely procurement.
  • Regularly review actual versus estimated materials upon project completion to identify variances and improve future estimations.
  • Assist in securing necessary project permits and approvals.
  • Build strong client relationships by providing clear communication, guidance, and support throughout the design and selection process.
  • Develop internal and client reports, including project budgets, cost reports, and project status updates.
  • Support the invoicing process for suppliers and vendors.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical construction documents.
  • Proven skills in budgeting, cost analysis, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in tracking and managing selections for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficient analytical and mathematical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in residential cost management or estimating.
  • Relevant costing and analysis experience within the construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience with new home and residential construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn and utilize company software programs.

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
