Activities Coordinator for Seniors

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Program Assistant to join our team at Maris Grove by Erickson Senior Living. As a Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in stimulating the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging programs and activities for residents, including structured and impromptu events.
- Collaborate with the Programming team to discuss resident needs and preferences, ensuring that programs meet their daily interests and needs.
- Escort and ensure the safety of residents on group trips and excursions.
- Work closely with other team members, management, community groups, volunteers, and families to deliver programs and activities that enhance the resident experience.
- Monitor changes in resident needs, abilities, and preferences, and communicate these changes to the Programming Manager.
- Prepare program supplies, maintain supply levels, and ensure the safe operation and functionality of equipment.
- Participate in team discussions regarding resident programming, schedules, trips, special events, staff scheduling, and resident issues.
- Lead group and individual activities, both structured and impromptu, in activity spaces, common areas, and resident rooms.
- Set up activity equipment, motivate participants, and assist with activities.
- A flexible work schedule, including weekends and evenings, is required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- One year of experience as an Activities Assistant in a licensed healthcare facility or related experience through college coursework and internship exposure preferred.
- Experience leading groups of people with varying levels of physical and cognitive independence preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
Work Environment:
The Program Assistant will work in a variety of settings, including resident rooms, common areas, patios, and outside venues. The role requires frequent exposure to residents, families, and visitors in a healthcare setting.
