This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing flexibility from various Amtrak office locations.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Senior Investigations Analyst is responsible for examining and resolving workplace conflicts, including allegations of discrimination and harassment, as well as customer-related discrimination complaints. Key responsibilities include providing training and guidance to management and employees regarding Amtrak's Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policies, while also supporting Human Resources initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts thorough investigations into complex internal disputes, including discrimination and harassment claims, employing best practice investigatory techniques.
  • Develops comprehensive investigative strategies, gathers and evaluates witness testimonies and documentation, and assesses credibility. Produces detailed investigative reports and recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Advises and supports management and internal stakeholders on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters.
  • Provides education to managers and employees through individual consultations and formal training sessions focused on preventing workplace harassment.
  • Fosters professional relationships within the organization to advance HR compliance initiatives and policies.
  • Keeps meticulous records of all investigations conducted.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience in EEO, Law, Employee Relations, or Human Resources.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and ensure timely completion of investigations.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in analyzing situations and taking appropriate actions for resolution.
  • Sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in EEO, Law, Employee Relations, or Human Resources.
  • S/PHR and/or SHRM S/CP Certification.
  • Experience in a unionized work environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Up to 25% travel, including occasional overnight trips. May involve visits to industrial and mechanical sites.
  • Significant use of computers.
  • Fast-paced and time-sensitive work environment.
  • Hybrid monthly work schedule.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication abilities.
