Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Family Resource Center (FRC) Director, the Enhanced Visitation/Family Advocate (FA) plays a crucial role in the development and execution of the Family Resource Center's initiatives. The FA is responsible for conducting intake assessments, providing essential information, and offering resources or referrals. Acting as a liaison between families and local service providers, the FA delivers targeted support programs tailored to family needs.

The FA assists clients in navigating resources available through municipal agencies, local enterprises, and collaborative Community-Based Organizations. This role includes supervising family visits, conducting outreach at community events, and organizing educational workshops for parents. Building strong partnerships with local organizations and maintaining an updated resource database are essential components of this position. The FA collaborates with other FRC staff to adopt a comprehensive approach to addressing family needs, dedicating significant effort to case management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver services within the community, ensuring effective interaction with families at risk of abuse or neglect.
  • Utilize case management skills to document outcomes and adhere to program protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with families and youth in various settings.
  • Experience in client interviewing, assessment, and service planning.
  • Familiarity with community-based agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to engage with diverse populations across various backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Fluency in Spanish/English or Cantonese/English.
