Key Responsibilities:
The Business Loan Specialist will oversee the development, expansion, and retention of the business loan and deposit portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and recruiting potential clients to enhance this business segment.
- Creating and implementing competitive loan and deposit products.
- Training financial center staff on various aspects of business lending.
- Managing the origination, processing, presentation, closing, and tracking of business loan applications.
- Ensuring compliance with NCUA regulations and other applicable laws.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in commercial lending or business services is required, or one year of relevant experience within a credit union.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong analytical skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in current software systems or related experience is required.
- Thorough understanding of commercial lending laws and regulations governing Federal Credit Unions is essential.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Capacity to sit for extended periods.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and typing in English.
- Able to hear and use a telephone.
- Frequent use of a computer requiring repetitive keystrokes.
Work Environment:
- This is a hybrid role offering flexibility to work remotely or from headquarters and/or retail locations.
- Local travel to retail stores and member accounts is expected approximately 50% of the week.
