Job Summary

The District Human Resources Manager plays a critical role in driving the effective execution of HR processes, establishing a customer service culture, and developing a workforce that achieves excellence in driving business results, customer service, and Company Values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective HR Review, succession planning, and development of the leadership pipeline for the district.
  • Ensure consistent quality in selection, assimilation, and training of salaried managers within the district.
  • Provide coaching and consulting on development planning for district and store leaders.
  • Improve workforce diversity.
  • Coordinate hourly job fairs, facilitate RMA forums, and maintain local hiring partnerships.
  • Partner with store managers on the selection and ongoing training of Associate Support Department Supervisors (ASDS).
  • Monitor the effectiveness of planning and executing for salaried and hourly training plans.
  • Facilitate, monitor, and support the performance management process in a timely and effective manner, including code calibration.
  • Provide partnership and counsel on all terminations and demotions.
  • Partner with store leadership to engage and coach associates on the floor to facilitate a customer service culture.
  • Ensure effective use of Company recognition and communication processes.
  • Conduct store HR Town Hall meetings and follow up to ensure effective execution on issues.
  • Support leaders in Employer of Choice survey administration, feedback, and action planning.
  • Partner with the HR Service Center on staffing, associate relations, and other transactional processes.
  • Take a leadership role in the execution of organizational change initiatives impacting the district or stores.
  • Serve as a first responder for labor, workplace violence, and other similar events and partner with the Regional Associate Relations team to determine next steps and ensure final resolution.
  • Partner with district leaders on strategic plans to drive business results, customer service, and alignment with Company Values.
  • Support all aspects of HR during new store openings, closings, or relocations.
  • Actively participate in store walks, district staff meetings, and other operations activities with DMDirect Manager/Direct Reports:
  • DHRM position reports to a Regional HR Director.
  • 6-12 ASDSs have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the DHRM.
Requirements
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position, and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
  • On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Qualifications
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, analytical skills, and experience in operational, sales, and management.
