Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Atkore International is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for guiding and managing the human resources function for our facilities located in Phoenix, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with plant and functional leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality HR processes.
  • Direct employment activities, including recruitment and retention, onboarding, labor and employee relations, compliance, training, and compensation.
  • Lead talent management and performance management-related activities, including measuring performance and root-cause analysis.
  • Conduct research into personnel programs, policies, and activities, and employment law, and recommend strategies, changes, or innovations as needed.
  • Develop programs, policies, procedures, and controls regarding employment, and analyze people-related metrics.
  • Analyze training needs to design employee and leadership training and development, including safety programs.
  • Develop, deliver, and supervise training programs, and supervise new employee orientation.
  • Drive Engagement and Alignment (cultural) initiatives locally, and plan and organize company events.
  • Ensure compliance with employment-related laws, including EEO, OSHA, FLSA, ADAAA, FMLA, WARN, and others.
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action programs, prepare EEO-1 reports, and maintain other records as required.
  • Represent the company in all personnel hearings, investigations, and related employment litigation, and maintain necessary records.
  • Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database, and update job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Administer wage and salary policies, ensuring competitive rates of pay and benefits.
  • Involved in day-to-day employee and labor relations, including interest-based problem solving, counseling, and coaching, fact-finding, and other activities.
  • Provide support for other duties and projects, either locally driven or from Corporate, and may be assigned as a subject-matter expert or best practice lead on one or more human resources disciplines, company-wide.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 7 years of relevant Human Resources experience, including plant-level HR experience.
  • Experience in employee relations, lean manufacturing, or a business system-based company is a plus.
  • People-oriented and results-driven, with demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases, and ability to architect strategy and lead leadership skills.
  • Ability to confidently engage with business leaders, demonstrating ease in respectfully challenging perspectives when necessary to achieve optimal solutions for organizational success.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills, and competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization, and ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
