We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Cyber Operations Specialist - Red / Purple Teaming to contribute to our skilled and dynamic team in support of a significant Federal Government initiative.

This program is centered around the establishment of a Purple Team.

The primary objective is to facilitate purple teaming activities where seasoned Red Team professionals leverage their offensive expertise to train Blue Teams on their defensive strategies.

Key Responsibilities:


As a Senior Cyber Operations Specialist - Red / Purple Teaming, you will play a pivotal role in developing Purple Team capabilities within the Government organization.

Your collaboration with Blue Team resources will be crucial in enhancing their skills and knowledge in defending against adversaries attempting to breach their systems.


A typical day may involve:
  • Leading, developing, and planning engagements.
  • Creating training materials and conducting hands-on, practical training through direct engagement on offensive operations with Blue Team members in a controlled environment.
  • Identifying product/system/environment-specific vulnerabilities based on real-world system weaknesses, utilizing threat intelligence to educate Blue Teams on defense strategies.
  • Conducting root cause analysis of vulnerabilities and articulating findings in both verbal and written formats to stakeholders.
  • Connecting vulnerabilities and navigating laterally through an environment undetected.
  • Analyzing threat and vulnerability reports to provide technical insights and understand TTPs to be replicated in the environment.
  • Developing scenarios and artifacts that simulate real-world adversary groups for testing purposes.
  • Offering remediation recommendations based on identified vulnerabilities or defensive strategies.
  • Producing comprehensive technical reports, presentations, oral briefings, and training sessions.
  • Explaining tools and techniques while developing training to educate audiences with varying skill levels.
  • Additional responsibilities may include Penetration Testing support, tabletop exercises, and surge support to Incident Response.
  • Mentoring other team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • 10+ years of relevant Cyber Security experience.
  • 5-7 years of offensive-focused experience (Red Teaming, Purple Teaming, Penetration Testing, tool development, etc.).
  • Experience in creating training materials and conducting practical training through direct engagement with Blue Team members.
  • Proven experience in planning and leading Red Team or Purple Team engagements.
  • Advanced understanding of Red Teaming Methodology (Recon, Exploitation, Persistence, Lateral Movement, Post Exploitation, and Exfiltration).
  • Broad technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in relation to adversarial threats and offensive TTPs.
  • Familiarity with common Penetration Testing and Red Team Tools such as Burp Suite, CobaltStrike, Kali Linux, and Open Source Hacking Tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting within Linux and Windows environments and development experience in a programming language of choice (e.g., Python, Rust, Go, .NET).
  • Experience in building infrastructure for purple teaming or red team operations.
  • Familiarity with Purple Team frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and exploitation tactics against Cloud, Active Directory, Web applications, and network-based environments.
  • Possession of the OSCP certification or equivalent experience, or the expectation to obtain the OSCP certification post-hire.
