Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Specialist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As an MRI Specialist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed MRI procedures of designated anatomical areas, under the general direction of the radiologist and supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize hospital and radiology information systems to manage patient information and radiology procedures.
  • Access patient information, including appointment times, exam types, and patient reports, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Position patients and MRI equipment to ensure maximum information is obtained during exams.
  • Follow accepted MRI procedures, including reviewing patient information sheets and considering various protocols and rationales for positioning and technique.
  • Collaborate with other technologists to solve problems that arise during patient examinations.
  • Assist physicians as needed during procedures.
  • Generate high-quality images and reports, and transmit them to PACS in a complete and proper anatomic display.
  • Maintain a clean and organized radiographic area, and prepare equipment and supplies for future exams.
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies, and notify nurse, PA, and/or MD as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • ARRT Certification/Registration
  • Intravenous Contrast Administration Certification in New York State
