Position: Litigation Assistant
The Litigation Assistant at Novate Legal Search is essential in delivering thorough administrative and clerical support to a group of legal professionals. This role necessitates a solid grasp of judicial procedures and regulations. The Litigation Assistant also serves as a key point of contact among attorneys, clients, and outside entities while overseeing various administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee both physical and digital files, including the processing and examination of documents from various software systems
- Draft templates for legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and declarations
- Prepare and submit pleadings correspondence while maintaining a calendar of deadlines
- Organize case documentation and create binders for depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Facilitate office operations and assist assigned attorneys throughout the workday
- Review and refine documents to ensure precision
- Collaborate with the Billing Department to manage client invoicing
- 4+ years of pertinent experience as a legal secretary
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document management software
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Capability to build effective working relationships
- Must successfully pass a background investigation
The candidate should be capable of using hands or fingers, handling documents, and working on a computer for extended periods. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds is necessary.
Work Environment:This position is primarily conducted in an indoor office setting with varying levels of noise.
