The Litigation Assistant at Novate Legal Search is essential in delivering thorough administrative and clerical support to a group of legal professionals. The Litigation Assistant also serves as a key point of contact among attorneys, clients, and outside entities while overseeing various administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee both physical and digital files, including the processing and examination of documents from various software systems
  • Draft templates for legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and declarations
  • Prepare and submit pleadings correspondence while maintaining a calendar of deadlines
  • Organize case documentation and create binders for depositions, mediations, and hearings
  • Facilitate office operations and assist assigned attorneys throughout the workday
  • Review and refine documents to ensure precision
  • Collaborate with the Billing Department to manage client invoicing
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of pertinent experience as a legal secretary
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document management software
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Capability to build effective working relationships
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation
Physical Requirements:

The candidate should be capable of using hands or fingers, handling documents, and working on a computer for extended periods. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds is necessary.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily conducted in an indoor office setting with varying levels of noise.
