Position Overview:

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and servicing of aircraft, executing a variety of essential tasks to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role involves guiding aircraft during ground maneuvers and securing them in designated parking areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate service vehicles to replenish essential supplies such as water and waste system chemicals.
  • Assist in the processes of refueling, defueling, and towing aircraft.
  • Utilize ground support equipment including electrical power carts, engine starting carts, and hydraulic carts for aircraft servicing.
  • Conduct inspections of tires to verify proper air pressure and overall condition.
  • Position boarding platforms for the efficient loading and unloading of passengers.
  • Perform de-icing procedures on aircraft wings and assemblies as required.
  • Collect engine oil samples for analysis as needed.
  • Communicate with air traffic control via land mobile radio for towing and parking coordination.
  • Retrieve and return drag chutes to the appropriate maintenance unit.
  • Collaborate with supply personnel to order necessary aircraft parts.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of safety and security regulations and procedures.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Work conditions may be remote and challenging.
  • Long hours with exposure to various weather conditions and potential hazards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License or relevant military experience in aircraft maintenance is advantageous.
