Job Overview:


The Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be tasked with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various aircraft systems, including piston engines, propellers, airframe flight controls, landing gear, and troubleshooting of systems. This role also encompasses sheet metal and composite repairs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all maintenance activities in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturers' technical specifications.
  • Ensure that hand and specialized tools are maintained in a safe and operational condition.
  • Account for personal and company tools, reporting any unserviceable items to the appropriate authority.
  • Perform serviceability checks on powered and non-powered support equipment prior to use.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to team members.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, security, and housekeeping protocols.
  • Meet training requirements and assist in onboarding new personnel.
  • Operate both special purpose and standard vehicles as authorized.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety.
  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all L3Harris aircraft, including during weekends and holidays.
  • Complete daily assignments as directed by the lead mechanic.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, crouch, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
  • Perform maintenance on L3Harris's training fleet of aircraft.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four (4) years of experience as an A&P Mechanic.
  • Two years of post-secondary education or an associate's degree with up to two (2) years of A&P Mechanic experience.
  • Possession of a current A&P License without violations (Airframe and Powerplant).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with General Aviation aircraft.
