Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Summary:

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET/CT) procedures to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities (75%):
  • Patient Imaging: Perform routine and advanced PET/CT procedures on designated body parts for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury.
  • Patient Preparation: Screen patients before procedures for any precautions or contraindications.
  • Procedure Explanation: Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT procedures, explaining the procedure, positioning patients, and providing patient support.
  • Scan Parameter Adjustment: Adjust scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
  • Positive Attitude and Relationships: Maintain a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other associates and peers.
  • Radio Pharmaceuticals Administration: Assess, prepare, record, and administer radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State regulations and departmental policies.
  • FDG Administration: Administer fluorodioxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients.
  • Safety and Quality: Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment.
  • Contamination Reporting: Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Patient Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • ACR Toolkit and Accreditation: Maintain the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
Secondary Responsibilities (20%):
  • Imaging Support: Perform general maintenance on PET/CT scanners and/or mobile scanners and trucks.
  • Quality Control: Perform and record daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot when possible and report problems to the supervisor.
  • Departmental Surveys: Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State Regulations.
Additional Responsibilities (5%):
