Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform imaging procedures using nuclear medicine instruments and equipment, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners.
  • Prepare and administer dosages of radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
  • Position patients for scanning and operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment.
  • Ensure radiation safety and quality control procedures are followed, including disposal of radioactive materials and monitoring work areas and patient rooms.
  • Assist physicians in all aspects of procedures in the assigned area.
  • Provide a safe and positive experience for patients.
  • Support teaching and continued learning as technology changes.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree from an approved two-year AMA Nuclear Medicine School.
  • 4-6 years of related experience.
  • Independently able to perform tasks and support inexperienced NMTs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, communicate effectively, and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Current certifications in ARDMS or ARRT - Nuclear Med Tech and NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
