Job Summary

RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. We are committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Imaging (75%)
    • Perform routine and advanced Positron emission tomography--computed tomography (PET/CT) procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats
    • Screen patients before the procedure for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
    • Explain and prepare patients for Positron emission tomography--computed tomography (PET/CT) procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
    • Adjust scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
    • Maintain positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
    • Assess, prepare, record and administer radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State regulations and departmental policies
    • Administer fluorodioxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients
    • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services
    • Report contamination to Radiation Safety Officer
    • Maintain accurate patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
    • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
  • Imaging Support (20%)
    • Perform general maintenance on PET/CT scanner and/or mobile scanner and truck
    • Perform and record daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation
    • Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines
    • Troubleshoot when possible, and report problems to supervisor
    • Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance of radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State Regulations
  • Other Duties (5%)
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    Requirements
    • Required:
      • NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing
      • Graduate of an accredited school of radiography
      • Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
      • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
      • Training and experience sufficient to competently perform radiographic procedures independently
      • Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance
    • Preferred:
      • Bilingual
      • ARRT certification in CT
      • NMTCB PET Specialty certification
