Nuclear Medicine Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures, assisting in patient care, and ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation-producing modalities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex imaging procedures using nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, ensuring accurate dosages and radiation safety protocols.
- Position patients for scanning and operate imaging equipment, maintaining a safe and positive experience for patients.
- Conduct radiation safety and quality control procedures, adhering to New York State regulations and hospital policies.
- Assist physicians in procedures, provide accurate patient data entry, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Associate's degree from an approved two-year AMA Nuclear Medicine School.
- 4-6 years of related experience, with a strong background in nuclear medicine and radiation safety.
- Current certifications in ARDMS or ARRT - Nuclear Med Tech and NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, communicate effectively with patients and staff, and maintain accurate records.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to radiation and potentially hazardous materials. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
