We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform imaging procedures using nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment, including SPECT/CT or PET/CT scanners.
- Prepare and administer dosages of radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
- Position patients for scanning and operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment.
- Ensure radiation safety and quality control procedures are followed, and dispose of radioactive materials properly.
- Monitor work areas and patient rooms to ensure levels of radioactive materials are in accordance with NY State regulations.
- Associate's Degree from an approved two-year AMA Nuclear Medicine School.
- 4-6 years of related experience.
- Independently able to perform imaging procedures and support inexperienced NMTs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and perform quantitative analysis for patient imaging procedures.
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to lift, carry, and push equipment as needed.
