Position Overview:

Barton & Loguidice is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Resident Engineer (NICET IV) to oversee construction activities during the upcoming season. This position involves providing administrative and inspection support for various transportation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintain documentation of daily construction operations.
  • Prepare daily logs, inspection reports, and weekly progress summaries.
  • Measure and record quantities of materials utilized and work completed.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly payment requests.
  • Review and assess claims for additional work and change order expenses.
  • Facilitate coordination among utilities and stakeholders.
  • Interpret and apply contract plans and specifications.
  • Support collaboration between the project owner, contractors, and governmental entities.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess experience in highway, bridge, paving, or drainage inspection. Familiarity with NYSDOT specifications and MURK procedures is essential. Proficiency in basic computer skills is required to effectively utilize construction management software. We encourage applications from recent retirees of Public Works, NYS Thruway, and DOT.


Compensation:

The estimated pay range for this position is $45-60 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant work experience, geographical location, market conditions, education, training, certifications, and other qualifications.
