Job Summary

Sterling Engineering Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for supporting electrical and controls engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Controls Programming: Assist in the development and implementation of controls programming for automation systems.
  • System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical and control systems to ensure smooth operation of equipment and plant functions.
  • Automation System Support: Collaborate with the engineering team to provide technical support for automation systems, particularly during new equipment installations and start-up processes.
  • Technical Software Management: Manage all technical automation software related to plant operations, ensuring compliance with safety and electrical standards.
Requirements
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience in electrical and control systems.
  • Skills/Knowledge: Proficiency in computer and networking systems, PLC, HMI, and VFD programming experience, strong understanding of electrical standards and power distribution systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and collaborate with various departments, excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Software & Hardware: Experience with Rockwell and Schneider automation products, familiarity with networking hardware, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Rockwell Automation programming software.
Travel Requirements

Ability and willingness to travel to OEM vendor sites, as needed.
