The Director of Technology Strategic Operations will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. by overseeing the Technology program and/or practice area. This leadership position requires a strong background in technology, with a focus on strategic planning, organizational change management, and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide vision and direction for the Technology program and/or practice area, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategic goals.
  • Program Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology programs and initiatives, ensuring timely and effective delivery of results.
  • Team Leadership: Directly manage and/or influence separate teams focused on delivering high-quality results within one or more major technology disciplines, including strategy, software development, operations, engineering, development services, information security, and compliance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective working relationships with internal and external partners, including vendors and stakeholders, to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of technology solutions.
  • Financial Management: Direct and coordinate the organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency for the program, project, and/or practice area.
  • Technology Best Practices: Provide leadership in technology best practices, ensuring adherence to industry-leading methodologies, including ISO-9000, ITIL, Agile, and iterative.
  • Problem-Solving and Analysis: Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions and solve complex problems.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline with at least ten (10) years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience; Master's degree and past Financial Services industry experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of industry-leading technology best practices, including familiarity with technology methodologies, such as ISO-9000, ITIL, Agile, and iterative.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships and leverage those relationships to improve the quality of work products.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and recommend processes, tools, technologies, and/or products to meet business and budgetary requirements.
  • Location: This position is based in Washington, DC, but may require occasional travel to other locations.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is between $146,200 and $283,800, depending on location and experience. FINRA provides comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as additional insurance options, including basic life, accidental death and dismemberment, supplemental life, spouse/domestic partner and dependent life, and spouse/domestic partner and dependent accidental death and dismemberment, short- and long-term disability, long-term care, business travel accident, disability, and legal.
