Job Summary

Smiths Interconnect Inc. is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Management:
    • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Monitor system performance and implement regular updates, patches, and backups to prevent downtime.
    • Own the End Point Management process and lead endpoint-focused projects to ensure compliance with CMMC and NIST standards.
  • Network Security:
    • Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect our network from potential threats.
    • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure IT systems comply with CMMC and NIST standards by performing regular audits and assessments.
    • Implement security measures and protocols to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Document and maintain up-to-date compliance records and assist in crafting and enforcing policies related to endpoint functionality.
  • Systems Administration:
    • Administer Microsoft Office 365 (GCC environment), Microsoft Intune, Defender, and other tools to ensure seamless operation.
    • Administer various systems, including digital signage, access control, SMS notifications, and other tools.
  • Ticketing System:
    • Manage and resolve IT support tickets using Kaseya to provide timely and effective technical support to end-users.
    • Document and track issues, resolutions, and system changes to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • User Support:
    • Provide technical support and training to staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
    • Maintain user accounts and permissions to ensure secure access to company systems and data.
    Requirements
    • Technical Requirements:
      • Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and troubleshooting techniques.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office applications.
      • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network protocols.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
      • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient resolution of issues.
    • Experience and Education:
      • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar position.
      • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
      • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a plus.
    • Security Clearance:
      • U.S. Person required (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). May be required to obtain a security clearance.
