ROLE OVERVIEW

Essential Skills Required: Java (Struts/Tiles, Struts 2, Servlets/JSP, JPA/Hibernate), Oracle, PL/SQL (DML and DDL), JavaScript (AngularJS, NodeJS, React, jQuery), Jenkins, Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM), Bootstrap, Docker, SQL, UML, GIS

Key Qualifications:

  • Must be available to work 100% on-site in Tallahassee, FL;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Java application development using frameworks such as Struts/Tiles, Struts 2, Servlets/JSP, and JPA/Hibernate;
  • At least 5 years of experience with Oracle databases, including the ability to create complex queries and PL/SQL database objects;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, NodeJS, React, or jQuery;
  • Proven experience as a full-stack developer for at least 3 years;
  • Familiarity with responsive design frameworks, preferably Bootstrap;
  • Experience with version control systems, ideally Git;
  • Knowledge of continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins;
  • Proficiency in relational database design;
  • Understanding of object-oriented design principles;
  • Familiarity with Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM);
  • Experience with database query tools (e.g., TOAD, SQL Developer);
  • Knowledge of database security practices, including role-based security;
  • Familiarity with Unified Modeling Language (UML);
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), and Kanban (preferred);
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Docker (preferred);
  • Experience in developing GIS applications (preferred);
  • Familiarity with RESTful web services (preferred);
  • Understanding of environmental regulatory processes (preferred);
  • Oracle certifications (preferred);
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, enhance, and support various business applications;
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications;
  • Research and document user requirements;
  • Write, translate, and code software applications according to specifications;
  • Help develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines;
  • Collaborate with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to resolve software-related issues;
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
