About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Compensation Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Global Sales Compensation team, you will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decisions, improving insights, and leading high-visibility projects. Your expertise will be essential in managing key annual planning and in-year projects, partnering with diverse stakeholders, and driving sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with sales leaders and teams to support annual and in-year incentive plan outcomes
  • Conduct data-driven compensation effectiveness to support GTM plans
  • Simulate and forecast compensation scenarios for annual planning and in-year deliberations
  • Review, design, and recommend plan mechanics that encourage sales performance
  • Cost and administer in-plan and above-plan incentives (e.g., SPIF, MBO, KSO, Quotas)
  • Support financial budgeting and forecasting processes across the total portfolio
  • Generate reporting and insights to present sales compensation results/outcomes
  • Support functional teams across sales planning, compensation, quota, policy, and operations
  • Function as a subject matter expert on all sales planning and compensation outcomes

About Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS):

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest-growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including public sector.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of sales compensation, sales operations, finance, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data modeling, visualization, and/or statistical forecasting using software packages such as SQL, R, Python, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience (Macros, Pivots, Lookups, Arrays)
  • 5+ years of experience working in a large or highly matrixed organization, preferably in the technology industry
  • 3+ years of project or program leadership/management experience or equivalent
  • 3+ years of delivering data analytics projects from concept to deployment
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
