Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Facilities Operations to join our team at ResMed. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in facilities management, with a focus on operational excellence and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our facilities, including staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Asset Management: Manage the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, including electronic and software-based systems.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to support the growth of our business, in close cooperation with real estate planning.
  • Service Contract Management: Administer and direct service contracts, including landscaping, custodial, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pest control, generators, fire, life safety, and work order management systems.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory, including periodic facilities and PMP equipment condition assessments.
  • Facilities Operations: Manage daily facilities operations, including security, cleaning, and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilities Strategic Planning: Develop a Facilities Strategic Plan for ResMed Los Angeles, closely aligned with the Real Estate Strategic Plan.
  • Facilities Layout Design: Design and plan facilities layouts in conjunction with business verticals and in alignment with Company brand guidelines.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and implement Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for all sites, and work with site leaders to operationalize those plans.
  • Facilities Operations Budgeting: Create and manage the facilities Operations budget, and report monthly on performance to or deviations from the budget.
  • Organizational Structure and Culture: Establish and maintain organizational structure, content of jobs, and culture, including the development and implementation of metrics to ensure optimal efficiencies.
  • Contracted Services Management: Lead efforts to ensure contracted services scopes of work are up to date, and report and address deficiencies to the facilities management group for appropriate action.
  • Workplace Safety and Security: Ensure proactive involvement in, accountability for, and demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, incident management, and understanding of current laws and Company policies regarding workplace safety.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee and manage contractors working on-site at ResMed facilities.
  • Proposal Development: Develop and coordinate written proposals and other purchasing service contract agreement specifications for the maintenance support requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.
  • Employee Security Awareness and Safety Programs: Prepare and present employee security awareness and safety programs involving crime prevention, safety, and ethical conduct and security awareness topics.
  • Security Plans and Best Practices: Develop and maintain security plans and best practices for all system facilities and associates.
  • Proactive Security Measures: Proactively approach deterring possible security breaches by using the latest state of the art video surveillance equipment, access control, screening technology, and consistent physical tours and inspections of the building interior and exterior premises.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 5 years prior facilities operational experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Strong professional communication skills, both oral and in writing. Ability to lead others. Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: 10+ years prior facilities operational experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access). Ability to communicate with senior leaders. Ability to maintain SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting tools. Ability to follow and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries. Strong customer focus approach and perspective. High standards - never satisfied with the status quo. Able to dive deep and never out of touch with the details of the business or the technology. Strive for innovation and simplification. Strong results orientation and able to think big. A strong desire to work in a dynamic environment. Root cause analysis and complex problem-solving skills. Shows good judgment and instincts in decision making. Ability to prioritize in a complex environment.
Computer Skills

Advanced level Microsoft Office experience, familiarity with facilities management systems.
