Job Summary

C.W. Wright Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled Business Unit Controller to join our Finance team at our Corporate Office in South Chesterfield, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing thorough analysis to assist management in decision making and other financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to management.
  • Assist project managers in activities concerned with the reporting and control of the construction process.
  • Establish and maintain a system of internal controls.
  • Interact with project managers and business unit managers to manage objectives, goals, and performance.
  • Prepare construction budget tracking reports to show cost to date vs. original budget.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering, and four (4) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in industrial construction industry strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of project controls principles relating to budgeting, scheduling, tracking of actual/committed costs, change control, and forecasting, and financial principles.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and clients.
  • Ability to function and work independently.
Work Environment

The Business Unit Controller will work in a general office environment where typical levels of noise, dust, and activity can be expected. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
