Job Overview

RGA Reinsurance Company is seeking a highly skilled Director to lead our North America Asset-Intensive team. As a key member of our Global Financial Solutions team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive growth and profitability in the asset-intensive business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage risks in asset-intensive business and optimize capacity against risk limits.
  • Advise GFS management on key risks in proposed investment/ALM strategies.
  • Identify new asset-intensive market opportunities and strategies to write business in those markets.
  • Engage with Investments to optimize portfolios, improve existing capabilities, and develop new client offerings.
  • Contribute to value management strategy and cycle management strategy for in-force portfolios.
  • Manage complex projects with multi-function teams, including Corporate partners and other stakeholders.
  • Develop GFS training resources and guidance documents relating to the Asset-Intensive business.
  • Support individual transactions as directed.
  • Enhance RGA's brand externally as a subject matter expert and carry out branding activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, math, finance, actuarial sciences, statistics, econometrics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in financial services, including insurance/reinsurance, investment banking, asset management, or consulting, with a focus on life insurance/pension investment management and/or ALM.
  • Specialist knowledge in life insurance portfolio management, ALM, LDI, and derivatives/hedging strategies.
  • Knowledge in pricing, risk management, and investing for life insurance.
  • Advanced level of investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in an environment with multiple stakeholders, decision makers, and sometimes diverging priorities.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received.
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal required guidance in day-to-day operations.
  • Good persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English.
