Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients. This position involves overseeing the treatment and services provided by LPNs, CNAs, and other healthcare personnel during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and assess individualized care plans for each patient.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and re-assessments of patient conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care.
  • Report any patient concerns or changes in condition promptly to the supervisor or physician.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Preferred: One or more years of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or addiction recovery settings is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Current RN license from the state or a compact state, as applicable.
  • Certification in Psychiatric Nursing is preferred.

Core Competencies:
  • Provide and coordinate care by assessing both physical and behavioral health needs of clients.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans while maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Educate clients and their families on various health conditions, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Continuously monitor client status and document relevant information.
  • Ensure nursing treatment plans are tailored to assessed needs and that initial treatment plans are completed upon admission.
  • Accurately administer medications and document controlled substances, adjusting medications under supervision as necessary.
  • Notify physicians of significant changes in patient status, including detox difficulties or medical emergencies.
  • Supervise self-administration of medications, ensuring client identification and safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain accountability for medication administration, recording, and security.
  • Efficiently manage admission and discharge processes as directed.
  • Engage regularly with the treatment team regarding client care and participate in unit activities.
  • Provide education to clients, families, and colleagues on medication usage and other essential topics for optimal care.
  • Monitor client acuity and staffing needs, arranging coverage as required.
  • Ensure thorough documentation for all clients and complete daily assignment sheets accurately.
  • Deliver comprehensive reports to incoming staff, supervisors, and physicians.
  • Provide emergency services coverage as needed.
