Overview: Sentara Healthcare is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Electrophysiology Lab at Sentara Careplex Hospital.

This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule.

Sign-On Bonus: A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Position Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is accountable for delivering a proficient level of nursing care, utilizing the nursing process as a framework for practice. This includes:

  • Assessment
  • Diagnosis
  • Outcomes identification
  • Planning
  • Implementation
  • Coordination of care
  • Teaching and health promotion
  • Evaluation

The CNS is expected to uphold the standards of professional performance, which encompass ethics, culturally competent practice, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, resource management, and environmental health.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday: Four ten-hour shifts from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. Days off will vary weekly. No on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma is required; a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred.

Licensure: Current RN licensure is mandatory. BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire, and ACLS certification must be obtained within one year.

Experience: Previous experience in Electrophysiology or Cardiac Catheterization Lab is strongly preferred. Familiarity with circulating and monitoring invasive cardiac procedures, endovascular procedures, and interventional radiology is advantageous.
