Overview:
Sentara Health is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Electrophysiology Lab at Sentara Careplex Hospital. This position is full-time, operating on a day shift schedule.
Position Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is tasked with delivering a proficient level of nursing care, utilizing the nursing process as a framework for critical thinking. The role encompasses the following standards of practice:
1. Assessment
2. Diagnosis
3. Outcomes Identification
4. Planning
5. Implementation
6. Coordination of Care
7. Teaching and Health Promotion
8. Evaluation
Additionally, the CNS adheres to professional performance standards, which include ethics, culturally competent practice, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, resource management, and environmental health. The CNS is expected to possess the clinical expertise necessary to meet the specific standards required in various clinical settings.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday: Four ten-hour shifts from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. Days off will vary weekly. No on-call duties required.
Qualifications:
Education:
Required: RN-Associate's Degree or RN-Diploma; Preferred: BSN or MSN
Licensure:
Must hold a valid RN license
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in circulating and monitoring invasive cardiac procedures, endovascular procedures, and interventional radiology is highly desirable. Experience in critical care settings such as ICU or ED, or in a cath lab, is strongly preferred.
