Program hours of operation: 1:00pm-6:00pm (varies per location)

Program Overview:
Woodcraft Rangers Day Camp programs offer participants a comprehensive camp experience that integrates engaging activities from our extensive curriculum library with time-honored camp traditions. Staff members have the opportunity to work in Day Camps, Sleepaway Camp, or both.

Position Overview:


The Site Activity Assistant plays a vital role in aiding the Camp Coordinator with the management of all on-site operations, particularly focusing on administrative tasks.

This position supports the on-site team in delivering memorable and enjoyable Summer Day Camp experiences, acting as a point of contact for parents, community members, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure a consistently safe environment for all participants, both physically and emotionally. Foster an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful atmosphere that values diversity among all program participants, staff, and families.

In collaboration with the Camp Coordinator, assist the on-site team in executing their responsibilities and providing high-quality programs and customer service.

Coordinate snacks and meals with the food services vendor, providing necessary training to the team and submitting required documentation.

Effectively implement site protocols, safety regulations, and organizational policies.

Oversee and monitor compliance requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submission of all necessary documentation, including attendance records and program evaluations.

Adhere to all safety protocols and emergency procedures, maintaining current training and certifications.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders, including participants, families, site personnel, and colleagues.

Assist in the planning and execution of culminating activities and events that showcase the achievements of all participants.

May be required to accompany off-site field trips in the absence of the Camp Coordinator.
Engage in staff development training as required, approximately 30 hours spread across multiple weekends and intersessional days throughout the spring.
Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance.
TB Test clearance.
First Aid & CPR certification (provided by the organization).

6 months of experience supervising or leading a team and/or a group of children in an educational or recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.

Ability to utilize a smartphone for work-related tasks (organization provides wifi/cell stipend).
Proof of vaccination is required for all employees engaging in any in-person work with staff or clients.

Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and navigate a large facility.

The employee must be able to speak, hear, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
