Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a proactive leader, engaging in both managerial tasks and staff training to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and drive revenue growth and performance metrics for the practice.
  • Adapt to new technologies and manage change effectively, ensuring smooth implementation of updated policies and procedures.
  • Oversee daily cash handling, closing procedures, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure all expenditures align with the budget, verifying invoices and managing vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and manage timekeeping for payroll purposes.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise team members, conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • Uphold employee conduct standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  • Manage inventory of optical products and maintain relationships with suppliers to meet the needs of our clientele.
  • Assist patients in selecting eyewear and lenses tailored to their prescriptions, including handling repairs and returns.
  • Conduct insurance verifications and manage claims processing.
  • Collaborate with IT to resolve any equipment-related issues.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including managing patient records and prescriptions.
  • Execute additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing an optometry practice.
  • Experience in a private practice environment is preferred.
  • Licensure as an Optician is advantageous.
  • Ability to identify, recruit, and retain top talent in a growing organization.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a proactive approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Integrity and honesty in leadership.

Work Environment:

This position is based on-site within our practice. Typical duties involve regular use of hands for various tasks, as well as standing, walking, and sitting. The role may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception.
