Job Overview

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is seeking a Business Unit Technical Services Manager to oversee operations in the West Coast region.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is pivotal in delivering technical assistance and training that aligns with the strategic goals of Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC LLC. The BU-TSM will guide and develop the Business Unit Technical Services team and will be responsible for the training and support of distributor personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Business Unit Technical Service team, focusing on strategy formulation, operational execution, performance evaluation, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the BU Commercial and Residential Business Directors on all matters related to Technical Service and Support.
  • Engage with business unit staff to ensure timely and effective service and technical assistance.
  • Oversee the monitoring of submitted reports, including the tracking of Service Cases in SalesForce.
  • Manage programs aimed at the development and support of distributor personnel, particularly members of the Diamond Service Group (DSG).
  • Diagnose and resolve highly complex product operational issues.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians and distributor staff involved in the installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, or repair of METUS products.
  • Work in partnership with sales personnel to ensure that business unit objectives are met.
  • Address situations where standard procedures do not resolve product malfunctions or customer dissatisfaction.
  • Report design, reliability, and maintenance issues to the Product Planning and Quality Teams.
  • Recommend product redesigns to better fulfill customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with METUS Product Development teams to assess the feasibility of introducing new products.
  • Identify product deficiencies and work with the QA Team to restore product quality as necessary.
  • Review parts sales and warranty claims to detect potential reliability issues with products or components.
  • Familiarize yourself with the technical aspects of competing products and provide insights to management as required.
  • Manage authorized concession claims to minimize costs associated with extra-warranty issues.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 50% for various company meetings and training sessions, both domestically and potentially internationally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical HVAC role.
  • Experience with ductless, VRF, and hydronic systems is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of direct management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • EPA Certification is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Capability to lead a team without direct daily supervision in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders to access job sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $165,000 per year, although the final salary may vary based on several individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
