POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is pivotal in delivering technical assistance and training that aligns with the objectives of Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC LLC. The Business Unit Technical Services Manager will lead and develop the Business Unit Technical Services team and will be responsible for the training and support of distributor personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the Business Unit Technical Service team, focusing on strategy formulation, operational management, performance evaluation, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit Commercial and Residential Directors on all matters related to Technical Service and Support.
  • Engage with business unit staff to ensure timely and effective service and technical support.
  • Monitor all submitted reports, including tracking Service Cases within the SalesForce platform.
  • Manage programs aimed at the development and support of distributor personnel, particularly for Diamond Service Group (DSG) members.
  • Diagnose and resolve highly complex product operational issues.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians and distributor personnel involved in the installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, or repair of METUS products.
  • Work in conjunction with sales teams to ensure the achievement of business unit objectives.
  • Address situations where standard procedures do not resolve product malfunctions or customer dissatisfaction.
  • Communicate design, reliability, and maintenance concerns to the Product Planning and Quality Teams.
  • Advocate for product redesigns to better satisfy customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with METUS Product Development teams to assess the feasibility of introducing new products.
  • Identify product shortcomings and work with the QA Team to restore product quality as necessary.
  • Review parts sales and warranty claims to detect potential reliability issues with products or components.
  • Familiarize oneself with the technical aspects of competing products and provide insights to management as required.
  • Manage authorized concession claims to minimize costs associated with extra-warranty issues.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for various company meetings and training sessions, both domestically and potentially internationally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical HVAC capacity.
  • Experience with ductless, VRF, and hydronic systems is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of direct management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Capacity to lead a team without direct daily supervision in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a diverse team.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to navigate stairs and/or ladders to access job sites.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

The base salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $120,000 and $165,000 annually, although the final salary may vary based on individual factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
