Position Summary:
This role is responsible for the ongoing surveillance and safeguarding of the facility, staff, and residents. It involves assessing potential security breaches and recommending necessary corrective measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor security personnel.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate security staff.
  • Ensure security operations align with established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate facility training programs in compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct and document required security inspections of the facility.
  • Oversee resident pat-downs, headcounts, searches, and drug tests as mandated.
  • Facilitate scheduled inmate transports to various locations.
  • Manage the inmate disciplinary process to ensure adherence to policies and standards.
  • Monitor daily activities to ensure alignment with the established schedule.
  • Conduct routine inspections of all facility areas.
  • Review daily staffing to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Investigate alleged staff misconduct and prepare reports for management review.
  • Review security reports for thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Inspect the facility daily for cleanliness and safety compliance.
  • Ensure weekly fire safety inspections and monthly evacuation drills are conducted.
  • Act as Facility Director in their absence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in corrections, criminal justice, human services, or a related field (educational requirements may be waived for candidates with significant correctional or human services experience and supervisory skills).
  • Minimum of two years of management and supervisory experience in a correctional environment.
  • Familiarity with community corrections systems and practices.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and experience with offenders is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operational manuals, and standard procedures.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet facility needs.
  • Proficient in using computers and relevant software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet state insurance requirements.

Compensation:
Pay: USD $80,000.00/Hr.
