This program necessitates U.S. Citizenship.
Our client, a prominent provider of government services, excels in delivering innovative solutions to various departments and agencies within the U.S. and British governments. They have successfully managed numerous large-scale, pioneering projects in areas such as environmental restoration, defense, space exploration, energy, and national security. Currently, they are overseeing a significant project at Kennedy Space Center, which involves the design and construction of a launch platform for NASA's Space Launch System (SLS), aimed at facilitating deep space missions.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and verify intricate structural engineering outputs, including steel calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
• Review and coordinate technical documentation with various engineering disciplines, procurement teams, and construction personnel.
• Prepare detailed technical reports addressing specific design challenges.
• Manage designated project activities effectively.
• Participate in constructability assessments.
• Support construction efforts by addressing field change requests and nonconformance reports.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers.
• Organize and coordinate off-project review requirements for engineering outputs.
• Lead and engage in technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and construction teams.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications:
• Proven experience in complex concrete and/or steel design projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ability to independently execute detailed designs for complex steel and/or concrete structures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the AISC Steel Construction Manual and ASCE 7 standards.
• Proficient in structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or STAAD.
• Familiarity with CADD applications, including Revit or Tekla.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• In-depth understanding of engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and material requisitions, as well as construction methods for steel structures.
• Awareness of the workflows of other disciplines and departments involved in projects.
• Ability to articulate technical issues clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
• Capacity to resolve design challenges collaboratively with subordinates, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines.
• Strong listening, communication, planning, and organizational skills are essential.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in Mathcad or similar software.
• Thorough understanding of AISC and ASCE 7 provisions.
• Skills to present technical topics with confidence and clarity.
• Experience in addressing field issues related to proposed changes from construction and managing non-conformance situations.
• Professional Engineering License is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
• Pay Rate / Range: $36.62 - $79.18
The salary range represents the expected compensation for this position; however, final offers will depend on various factors, including responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, location, and current market conditions.
