Position Overview:

Fior di Sole LLC, a prominent family-owned winery situated in Napa Valley, is renowned for its high-quality wine production across California for over two decades. As the 10th largest winery in the state, our extensive portfolio includes over 3.5 million cases and a diverse range of brands catering to various market segments, from popular to premium selections. Our wines are distributed through leading retailers both nationally and internationally.

Role Summary:

The Class A Truck Operator will be tasked with the efficient transportation of wine cases utilizing a 53' dry van trailer. The primary responsibility involves shuttling between the bottling and storage facilities, approximately 4 miles apart. The operator will engage in a repetitive cycle of loading and unloading, ensuring the safe transport of products while adhering to operational protocols.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Director of Logistics.

Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and perform daily checks at the start of each shift.
  • Notify supervisors regarding any damages or required repairs.
  • Safely transport wine, case goods, and machinery as needed.
  • Operate forklifts in a secure manner.
  • Load and unload Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs).
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured during transport.
  • Maintain compliance with all necessary certifications as mandated by DOT, OSHA, and company safety protocols.
  • Possess knowledge of TTB/Compliance regulations pertinent to Bills of Lading.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills with supervisors, inspectors, co-workers, and clients.
  • Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Perform routine cleaning, inspections, and minor maintenance on assigned vehicles.
  • Be available for weekend and overtime work as required.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL Class A Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
  • Endorsements for Tanker, Doubles, and Triples.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screening, physical examination, and background check.
  • Willingness to rotate shifts at least once a month.
  • Capability to perform minor mechanical repairs, such as changing light bulbs and air hoses.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Current CDL DOT Physical certification.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to bend, twist, stoop, reach, crawl, and walk as necessary.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Willingness to work overtime and be on call as needed.
