The Midas Store Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing business operations and ensuring store performance, including safety, efficiency, and accountability for profit and loss. This position emphasizes customer satisfaction, retention, and the expansion of both existing and new business opportunities. Additionally, the Store Manager is responsible for overall operations concerning cost management, inventory oversight, environmental compliance, and, most importantly, safety.
We seek a seasoned leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who will take charge of operations, financial outcomes, team morale, and growth strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a college degree or relevant coursework (preferred), a minimum of three years in the automotive repair sector, supervisory or management experience, a background in continuous improvement, P&L management experience, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct all automotive and general service technicians within the shop.
- Recruit, hire, train, motivate, evaluate, schedule, and coach team members.
- Provide exceptional customer service while actively listening and consulting with clients.
- Follow up with customers regarding services requested and estimated completion times.
- Oversee comprehensive vehicle inspections and make informed recommendations, including building computerized repair orders and sourcing parts.
- Deliver and discuss pricing estimates with customers while promoting shop service specials.
- Lead, manage, and train the team in alignment with our company’s vision, purpose, core values, and employee creed.
- Supervise all sales, accounting, and clerical functions handled by Service Advisors.
- Oversee technicians in the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of domestic, European, and Asian vehicles and light trucks.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and manage any inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility, adhering to environmental compliance standards.
- Handle employee payroll, including record-keeping of hours and scheduling.
- Update and submit daily sales reports to corporate management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a store or service management role.
- General knowledge of automotive services.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Proficient in POS systems and internet applications.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Effective team-building skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license.
